Getting Started On Your Community App
Learn about how to get started with your new community app.
✨ Set Up Your Profile
Personalize your presence on the network:
- Create your account and choose your username
- Click your username in the main left-hand navigation menu.
- Select Edit Channel.
- From there, you can:
- Upload a profile photo and banner image
- Add a description and social links
- Customize your channel to reflect your personality or brand
🏠 Set Up Your Newsfeed
Your home feed is where the action happens. It aggregates content from all the groups and channels you’re subscribed to in one place.
- Interact with posts by upvoting, sharing, or commenting.
- You may be automatically subscribed to a network’s content when you accept an invite—this depends on how that network is set up.
- Subscribe to other groups and channels to populate your newfseed with more content
✍️ Create And Share Content
Sharing your thoughts, media, or updates is quick and easy:
- Click Create on the left-hand navigation.
- Share content with the community:
- Status updates or links to articles
- Upload photos (up to 4 per post)
- Upload videos or embed YouTube videos
- Upload audio files
- Decide whether to post to your channel (publicly) or within a specific group you’re part of.
👥 Dive Into Groups
Groups are where focused conversations happen:
- Navigate to Groups in the left menu.
- Browse and join groups that interest you.
- Engage in discussions, share ideas, and connect around specific topics.
🔍 Explore Community Posts
Curious about what others are posting?
- Head to the Explore section to discover trending content.
- Find new channels and groups to follow based on your interests.
💬 Chat With Members
Connect directly with others in the community:
- Send direct messages to other users.
- Create group chats on the fly.
- Join group chat rooms, which can be toggled on or off per group.
🔔 Stay Notified
Never miss an update:
- Receive notifications when others engage with your content or comments.
- Get alerts for new posts from the channels and groups you’re subscribed to.
